Note to Hollywood: Becki Newton’s officially off the market!

The Ugly Betty scene-stealer, who became one of pilot season’s hottest commodities after ABC pulled the plug on her four-year-old series, has landed a starring role in NBC’s hour-long romantic comedy pilot, Love Bites.

The potential series, exec produced by Sex and the City’s Cindy Chupack, will follow three loosely connected stories of love, dating, and marriage each week.

Newton will play Annie, an infectiously bubbly hopeless romantic who also happens to be a virgin.

I’m still sad about Betty, but news that Becki’s off to bigger (and possibly better) things helps cushion the blow a little. Congrats, Becki!

Se ho capito a cosa ti riferisci, è quando hanno detto che avrebbero continuato a fare un podcast random dall'ascensore del loro palazzo a Los Angeles   (Perchè sì, a Los Angeles hanno gli appartamenti nello stesso palazzo  )

Senza contare che stasera fanno una serata a Broadway (se cercate su youtube ci sono i loro video di autopromozione, sono geni  )

Becki Newton commits to NBC's 'Love Bites'

"Ugly Betty" standout Newton had been in hot demand since ABC announced last month that "Betty" is being canceled.

She received 11 offers, ultimately settling on "Love Bites."

The romantic dramedy, from "Sex and the City" alumna Cindy Chupack, is in the vein of anthology series "Love, American Style" and chronicles several loosely connected, modern stories of love, sex, marriage and dating.

Newton will play one of two permanent cast members, Annie, an optimistic, infectiously bubbly social worker who is a virgin.

It's a hot one!

NBC's dramedy pilot "Love Bites" has been able to land the two most sought-after comedy actresses for its two leads.

"My Boys" star Jordana Spiro has signed on to star in the project, joining "Ugly Betty's" Becki Newton.

The romantic dramedy, from "Sex and the City" alumna Cindy Chupack UMS and Working Title, is in the vein of the anthology series "Love, American Style." It chronicles several loosely connected, modern stories of love, sex, marriage and dating centered on two characters, Frannie and Annie, the only regular roles on the show.

Spiro will play Frannie, a sarcastic career bridesmaid who is sick of being single. Newton plays her friend Annie, an infectiously bubbly hopeless romantic who also happens to be a virgin.

For Spiro, the project is in second position to TBS' "My Boys," which is returning for a fourth season in the summer.

Both Newton, a standout on "Betty," which will end its four-year run this spring, and Spiro, who also has gotten a lot of attention for her starring turn on "My Boys," were the toast of this pilot season on the comedy side, garnering some 20 offers between the two.

'Ugly Betty's' Ana Ortiz joins 'True Blue'

"Ugly Betty" alumna Ana Ortiz is staying on ABC with a lead role on the network's drama pilot "True Blue," and Alicia Witt has been tapped as the female lead on ABC drama pilot "Edgar Floats," with Derek Webster also cast.

"Blue" centers on a group of San Francisco homicide detectives reunited to solve the murder of one of their own. Ortiz, repped by Gersh, manager Geordie Frey and attorney Brad Small, plays a civilian secretary at the precinct.

Dramedy da 1 ora poi sulla nbc che non esige sti ascolti altissimi potrebbe essere interessante!!
L'attrice è unica quindi non voglio perdermelo. Ma America si dedicherà al cinema? e Vanessa Williams??

Qua potete vedere le prime foto di Becki dal set di Love Bites. Capelli a parte (bella la treccia, ma è passata attraverso un uragano?) adoro questa cosa che Annie veste come una che Amanda ucciderebbe a tradimento nel sonno

Mabius has been tapped to star in Outcasts, an eight-episode big-budget sci-fi series from top U.K. producing company Kudos Film and Television and creator Ben Richards. Set in 2040 when a biological catastrophe wipes off human species on Earth, the show centers on a settlement of 50,000 emigrants from Earth on  a life supporting planet in a neighboring solar system who have to start a new civilization. Mabius will play the vice president of the evacuation program. Filming of the show starts next month in South Africa.

Daniel/mabius non riesco proprio a immaginarmelo in un ruolo cosi. La serie di per sè potrebbe non essere il mio genere preferito, ma cosi come guardo Lost e Flash Forward potrebbe piacermi.. Sicuramente la proverò! Anche True blue non è che a pelle mi ispiri troppo, ma vale sempre lo stesso discorso sul provare

Per ora l'unica che mi ispira davvero è Love Bites, si sa quando arriverà il pilot?
