"Supernatural": It's almost time for the Winchesters to get back to work! Jensen Ackles has already begun his prep to direct the third episode of the season, which is the first episode they'll shoot this year. It's tentatively titled "Heartache" -- as if Sam and Dean haven't had enough of that! We've already spilled the beans about Sam's love interest and the stripper. Also in this episode, we'll meet a sweet 70-year-old lady with a very questionable past who helps out on a case.

According to a report at TV Line, actress Liane Balaban has been cast as Amelia, “a tragedy-damaged soul” that “soon reveals herself to be a brave, sweet, smart, sarcastic woman”. Sam is going to need some lovin’ now that brother Dean (Jensen Ackles) disappeared along with Dick Roman (recurring guest James Patrick Stuart) in the season finale this past May. While he is out hunting down just where in the hell (literally) Dean has been dispatched this time, he will have a little time for love

TV viewers may recognize Balaban from her guest roles in ‘Alphas’, ‘NCIS: Los Angeles’, ‘Numb3rs and ‘Covert Affairs’ (she was Auggie’s Russian hacker ‘friend); as well as small roles in the box office films ‘Definitely, Maybe’ and ‘Last Chance Harvey’.

Vedi il lato positivo: se i capelli lunghi se li tiene pure un po' davanti alle orecchie almeno non si vedono quasi per niente quei basettoni orribili.

Ausiello: Dean’s going to find himself “indebted” to one of those purgatory badasses the EPs teased during the show’s Comic-Con panel. “There’s going to be a character [introduced in Episode 1] that gets Dean out,” reveals Jensen Ackles. “It’s like, ‘I need you and you need me.’ And of course, he’s not a good guy. That character stands to pose a bit of an issue for Dean because maybe there are things that Dean has hidden that he doesn’t want to tell Sam that happened in purgatory.” Bonus scoop: Rumor has it the evildoer in question sports fangs.

Supernatural has tapped Ty Olsson (Battlestar Galactica, Men in Trees) to join the show’s eighth season in a pivotal recurring role.

Olsson, who also starred as 9/11 hero Mark Bingham in the A&E telepic Flight 93, will play Benny, a dark and dangerous vampire who helps Dean escape from purgatory.

“He’s not a good guy,” Dean’s portrayer, Jensen Ackles, tells TVLine. “[He] stands to pose a bit of an issue for Dean because maybe there are things that Dean has hidden that he doesn’t want to tell Sam that happened in purgatory.”

The character is set to debut in the show’s Oct. 3 season premiere.

Perchè io me lo ricordo che asciuga il bancone del bar in cui i Winchester vanno per cercare i vampiri oggetto dell'episodio? Uno dei due gli chiede chi è un Tal dei Tali e il barista gli indica un tizio al tavolo. Lo dico perchè Ty Olsson lo seguo ovunque (mi sto procurando BSG, tra parentesi) ed ero andata a rivedere l'episodio in cui era accreditato.

So let’s turn to Sam. Because while this other (and prettier) piece of casting may have you thinking (proactively freaking?) that time will be spent on lovey-dovey romance, Jared Padalecki reveals, “Sam is no longer with [Amelia]” when the season starts. “Most of the love interest stuff we see is all in flashback, though I know she will come back to non-flashback at some point in time.” What else was Sam up to while Dean was in purgatory, aside from getting’ down with his new girl? Not killing things that go bump in the night, it turns out. “Essentially, Sam walked away from the life when Dean, Castiel, Kevin and Crowley disappeared,” Padalecki previews.
