Andy Whitfield, protagonista del telefilm “Spartacus – Sangue e sabbia”, è morto domenica mattina a Sydney. Aveva 39 anni e da un anno e mezzo era affetto da linfoma. Il tumore gli era stato diagnosticato a marzo 2010, poco prima dell’inizio delle riprese della seconda stagione del telefilm.

“In una bella mattina di Sydney, circondato dalla sua famiglia, nelle braccia di sua moglie, il nostro guerriero, giovane e bello, ha perso la sua battaglia contro il linfoma” ha dichiarato Vashti Whitfield, la moglie dell’attore australiano di origini gallesi. “Se n’è andato in pace circondato dall’amore. Grazie a tutti i suoi fan il cui amore e sostegno lo hanno aiutato ad arrivare fin qui. Sarà ricordato come l’uomo che era: coraggioso e gentile, padre e marito”.

E' così triste. Mi sono sentita sull'orla di piangere appena l'ho letto.

Ho scoperto Spartacus per caso e così ho scoperto Andy.
Ha lottato come un guerriero... E speravo davvero ce la facesse. Non per noi , per il seguito ma per lui, per la sua splendida famiglia.
