According to a report from a French gaming blog, a “trusted source” has leaked some info about the next installment in Warner Bros’ Batman Arkham series, which will reportedly be named “Batman: Arkham Origins.”
The next chapter in the Rocksteady-developed Batman franchise is apparently already in development. According to rumours, the story will take place in retro Gotham, during the Silver Age of Batman comics (1950′s-60s), and will serve as a prequel to the series.
The latest rumours suggest that the game will feature not only Batman, but Justice League characters as well with the Green Lantern and Superman rumoured to appear, amongst others.
Arkham Origins will apparently be using the Unreal 3 engine and will be released for Xbox 720 and PlayStation 4, but will also appear on current generation systems.
Warner Bros. had previously announced that a third title in the Batman: Arkham series would release later this year during its Q4 2012 financial results.
Warners aren’t likely to make any official announcements until E3, which kicks off in early June.
Nome: Arkham Origins.
