Che stavano tirando in lungo l'avevamo capito tutti mesi fa, ora però lo spostamento a tempo indeterminato mi fa pensare sempre peggio...mah...vedremo, ma a sto punto comincio a pensare veramente che la fox non ci tenga poi così tanto a questo progetto...

Come si dice: "La speranza è l'ultima a morire..", però più il tempo passa e più aumentano le perplessità. Kiefer sarà anche fiducioso ma a me il progetto sembra in alto mare.

Despite Kiefer Sutherland's enthusiasm for a "24" movie, which he told "Extra" yesterday would begin filming in eight months, the movie is still a project very much in development. Twentieth Century Fox has not yet greenlighted the film, though they are working actively on the project with producers Imagine Entertainment.

The true situation with the film, according to two people involved with the project, is that the studio is trying to hire another writer for an additional rewrite. Billy Ray ("State of Play") wrote the initial screenplay.

The movie, which would continue the storyline of Sutherland's rogue agent Jack Bauer, is a priority for both the studio and the producers. One source confirms that Sutherland did recently meet with a new high-profile writer that the studio could hire for the revisions--a reason why Sutherland's enthusiasm might be so great right now. But that writer has yet to be hired and there are a lot of steps that must be reached before Fox is ready to issue the green light.

Sutherland ha risollevato l’interesse attorno alla produzione di un film tratto da 24 annunciando che la seconda versione della sceneggiatura è stata completata e che la produzione prenderà ufficialmente il via il prossimo aprile. “Abbiamo lavorato a lungo e duramente su una sceneggiatura negli ultimi due anni. In realtà, è stato più difficile sviluppare quest’idea che 24, la quale aveva 24 ore e 24 episodi per raccontare una storia. Pensavamo sarebbe stato più semplice invece è stato molto difficile. Nonostante l'attore Kiefer Sutherland sia impegnato sul set della nuova serie della FOX intitolata Touch, prevista in onda a metà circa della stagione, potrebbe presto anche riprendere i panni dell'agente Jack Bauer, l'eroe televisivo delle otto stagioni di 24. Il produttore Howard Gordon ha lasciato in questi giorni ad intendere che trattative sono in corso fra la FOX e la Imagine Television. Esiste già uno script che sta per essere rivisto, ma che potrebbe costituire il punto di partenza per convincere gli studio a far riprendere lo scorrere in avanti dell'orologio. Le prime informazioni avevano rivelato che lo scrittore Billy Ray aveva ultimato un copione per la versione su grande schermo di 24, storia che però in seguito era stata rifiutata dalla FOX. Ora pare proprio che lo stesso autore sia nuovamente al lavoro sullo stesso adattamento. Staremo a vedere!

Intervista con Brian Grazer che ha detto che il main antagonist di Jack sarà presto nel cast!

At a press conference for the new Clint Eastwood movie (J Edgar), Brian Grazer (co-creator of Imagine Entertainment and producer of great series like 24, Arrested Development and Friday Night Lights) was asked a question about the 24 movie. Apparently it will happen, believe it or not :

“We're working on it. We're making the movie. We have a script, and the casting is going along great. We're about to start casting the main antagonist, the person who plays against Jack Bauer. We have a really great role to play against Kiefer. I hope to have it out in the first quarter of 2012".

Last we heard, Billy Ray (Breach, State of Play, Shattered Glasses) was the writer attached to the project. A year ago, his first draw didn't get an approval but he rewrote it and apparently it was better. So far, Tony Scott and Ron Howard have been rumored to direct the 24 movie, which we know nothing about except that it will depict another tough day in Jack Bauer's life, and it will most likely be set outside the US (which makes sense given how the series ended).

Having the picture released before March 2012 is extremely optimistic considering they don't have their main cast or an actual official greenlight from 20th Century Fox. Grazer probably meant 2013, but things are undergo, so that's cool, hopefully it'll stay true to the series and not be a random blockbuster, movie adaptations of famous TV shows have not always turned out great.

Well, Deadline now reports that Mark Bomback (The Wolverine) will turn in the latest, and possibly final, draft of the script in the next few weeks. Imagine Entertainment and Fox have five directors in mind as of right now - Tony Scott pulled out due to other commitments - and pre-production is expected to be a very quick process with the studio aiming to start shooting in April as soon as star Kiefer Sutherland is free. The movie will be produced by Brian Grazer, who will also serve as producer of the 2012 Academy Awards.

Dai che forse ci siamo,speriamo che inizino a girare subito dopo che Kiefer avrà finito di girare Touch..Peccato per Tony Scott,sarebbe stato un regista adatto secondo me...
